Jane Lydon was born in Townland of Moyard, civil parish of Ballynakill, Co. Galway on June 9, 1851 to Patrick Lydon and Bridget Coyne.
She married Thomas Thornton on Sept. 5, 1869 at Ballinakill chapel in Renvyle and shortly after they and Jane's parents left Ireland to join others in the family in Marcellus, NY.
They had 12 children there. Jane's sister, Catherine Lydon Coyne, a brother Patrick Jr and a sister Mary were already there. Two brothers Michael and John stayed on Ireland. Michael was witness at Jane's marriage and I know nothing more about him except he died between 1919 and 1929. The brother John Lydon I found thanks to an IrelandXO contributor. He married Honor Corbett and had 9 daughters, two of whom died as infants. he died in Ungwee Ballynakill Galway in 1936.
