He was born 5th of Feb. 1832, Antrim, Ballycastle, Ramoan, Ireland. He served in the military 30 Mar 1851 as an unmarried Private Soldier.

He was married to Elizabeth Hmilton at High Church, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland ion 22 Nov 1855, He Immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1865. In the 1871 Census of Canada he is listed as belonging to the Church of England. He died 27 of Feb. 1910 in Saskatchewan, Canada.

I am looking for an actual Birth Record or a Christening record.

I believe his fathers name was William Ferguson but I do not have his mothers name. Any other information about him would be greatly appreciated.

He would be my 2nd great grandfather.

You won’t find a birth certificate for John as they hadn’t been introduced in 1832. You might find his baptism. To do that you need to know what denomination he was. If he was Presbyterian then there are 2 churches in that area. Ramoan and Ballycastle. Ramoan has no baptism records before 1900. Ballycastle’s start in 1829 (MIC1P/115 at PRONI). No other denomination in that parish has records for 1832. If you can’t get to PRONI yourself they will do a look up for a fee.

You should get John’s parents names from his marriage certificate. Scottish marriages certificates contain both parents names and occupations. Also whether they were alive or dead at the time of the marriage.
